Working Woman

About The Film

An Israeli take on sexual harassment in the #MeToo era, WORKING WOMAN brings nail-biting tension and squirm-inducing realism to the story of an ambitious young mother trapped between escalating office misogyny and financial strain at home. With three children and her husband’s restaurant struggling, talented Orna (a fierce star turn from Liron Ben-Shlush) feels lucky to have landed a position at a luxury real estate firm in Jerusalem. As she proves her worth and her professional fortunes rise, so do unwanted advances from her older, high-powered boss, Benny (Menashe Noy). Seemingly benign transgressions become increasingly predatory, forcing Orna either to rebuff her boss and risk her career, or salvage her dignity. Award-winning feminist-activist filmmaker Michal Aviad eschews contrivance or easy answers, to deliver a nuanced depiction of gray workplace dynamics, and a multifaceted lead character burdened with impossible choices.
