About The Film
In this touching farewell to a neighborhood institution, a beloved West Hollywood diner prepares to dish out its final meal. Since 1947, an eclectic mix of hungry folks made their way to Ed’s Coffee Shop, an old-school breakfast and lunch nook, first owned by Ed Blumstein and then his daughter Ada. But after nearly 60 years in business, Ada reveals she’s shutting down, a victim of shifting demographics and competition from corporate chains. Hit hard by the news, close-knit staff and loyal customers share their memories over last servings of classic comfort food. A departure from his blockbuster filmography, this fly-on-the-wall passion project is directed by Oscar nominees Lawrence Kasdan and wife Meg, both former Ed’s Coffee Shop regulars.
