About The Film
In this lighthearted Sundance dramedy, Noah Schnapp (Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things) is a Brooklyn kid with an identity crisis hoping to unify his mixed-heritage family through food. Twelve-year-old Abe, son of an Israeli mother and Palestinian father, has been raised secularly, but the grandparents insist he choose being Jewish or Muslim. While fraught Middle East politics play out at the dinner table, Abe escapes to explore his culinary roots, meeting a Brazilian chef and food blogger who believes mixing flavors can unite people. Learning his way around a professional kitchen as an unpaid intern, Abe uses his newfound cooking skills to prepare a Thanksgiving feast, hoping to finally bridge his family’s differences.
