Love the idea of covering Atlanta’s largest film festival? Want exposure to 18 days of non-stop international and independent cinema? How about the chance to cover one of Atlanta’s premier events at seven different venues?
Then you should probably sign up to help cover this year’s AJFF.
We're looking for great photographers and videographers to help document all things AJFF 2020. This includes capturing actors, directors, and other filmmakers in a wonderful environment full of exciting, moving, and poignant moments.
If you're interested in lending your talents, we will be holding a session to go over what we need on December 19, 2019 at 6:30 PM. We'll tell you what we are looking for and answer any questions you may have.
Some things we'll go over:
An overview of what AJFF is about and a look at what we have captured through photo and video in the past.
- What we are trying to capture.
- The style of photo/video we are looking for.
- The challenges of shooting in a dark environment.
- How to capture great portraits of the talent that will be present at this year's festival.
Requirements for AJFF's Official Photo/Video Team
All photographers and videographers for AJFF must have their own gear. Access to professional grade equipment is required, as well as an availability to fulfill a tight production schedule, including next-day turnaround of edited imagery.
Videographers will tape key events, and they must be able to take direction and plan all shoots from concept to finished product. You'll be required to collect names of artists and other key guests you record, and we'll need quick turnaround of edited, compressed video assets.
What You Get For Your Efforts
Please also know this is a volunteer opportunity. We incredibly appreciate your participation, so participants will be provided with access to the festival, as well as full photo credits and mention on AJFF.org. One of the best parts of getting involved with AJFF is the ability to enjoy every aspect of Atlanta's foremost provider of world-class independent and foreign film. We want you to enjoy the festival, as well as help cover it.
