-- Audience Award Winners Crime After Crime and The Round Up to Receive Encore Screenings March 20. Festival featuring “great films with a Jewish twist” sets new records in 11th year marked by 66 films, 99 screenings and six theaters --

ATLANTA – February 28, 2011— A record 26,000 attendees of the 2011 Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, the second biggest film event of its type in America, have cast their votes, and the winners they have selected for Best Documentary Feature and Best Narrative Feature will be returning for encore engagements.

The prize for Best Narrative Feature at the 2011 Atlanta Jewish Film Festival is The Round Up. This popular film is an elaborately produced drama starring Mélanie Laurent and Jean Reno that tackles the controversial subject of French collusion in the atrocities of the Holocaust.

Hot off its recent premiere at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, Crime After Crime, chronicling an Orthodox Jew’s battle to free an incarcerated survivor of domestic violence, was voted as Best Documentary Feature of the festival.

Both Audience Award winners will be presented at an encore screening to be held on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Regal Cinemas Atlantic Station Stadium 16. Times and ticketing information will be announced soon.

According to festival executive director Kenny Blank, the feedback from this year’s festival revealed diverse audiences and high marks for some of the event’s most provocative films. Attendance was 6,000 more than the past year.

“AJFF is delighted to bring back the most popular films of the festival for those who may have missed them in February,” said Blank. “The caliber and variety of films presented at the 2011 AJFF was stronger than ever, particularly in the documentary category. We are so grateful for the rave reviews the event has received from audiences and filmmakers alike.”

A limited number of tickets for both encore film presentations will be on sale later this week at www.ajff.org and 404-806-9913.

Sponsored by the American Jewish Committee, with the mission of building bridges across cultural divides, the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival is Atlanta's largest film festival and the second-largest Jewish film fest in the U. S., after the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival.
